Tax Partner
I have been a partner for over 20 years and running my own accounting firm gave me real insight into the problems and concerns business owners face. I faced them too! Most of my thirty year career I've spent in the construction, real estate and professional services industries. The work I enjoy most involves tax planning for S corporations, partnerships and individuals. That means I do a good bit of consulting to help business owners and people with tax strategy for estates and trusts, as well as business operations, purchases and sales. Like it or not, taxes are one of our biggest expenses, so it's my job to make sure they are minimized within the limits of the law, and that there are no surprises in April. Tax planning is a critical aspect in our Concierge Accounting approach.
I grew up in Phoenix, and earned both my Masters degree in Taxation and my B.S. in Accounting at Arizona State University. In August 2018, I was appointed to the Arizona State Board of Accountancy Tax Practice Committee. My wife, Renee, and I have been married for over thirty five years and we are the proud parents of three sons, Josh, Jake and Mickey. Josh is a restaurant manager in Scottsdale, was married in 2017, and just welcomed my first grandchild, Macy to the family! Jake joined the Army in the summer of 2010, deployed to Afghanistan, and came home safely in January 2014. He graduated from ASU in 2016 and commissioned back into the Army as an officer where he is flying Blackhawk Helicopters. Mickey graduated from ASU in 2017 and is now an Economics Teacher at Gilbert High School! Go Tigers! I like most things with motors, so racing my RX7 at club racing venues and riding ATVs with the family are my hobbies of choice. I enjoy hiking, have participated in the Phoenix 7 Summit Challenge and successfully hiked the Grand Canyon, Rim to Rim in one day.
Financial Partner
Construction has been a part of my professional life since I can remember. My early years I spent hands on as a professional framer for a custom home builder, and for the last two decades, providing attest and consulting service to businesses in the construction and real estate industries. Over the course of that time, I've developed strong working relationships with Valley bond agents, surety companies, bankers and other construction industry professionals, and that really helps our clients as they grow. My career path has allowed me to amass a broad base of experience, including controller of a private company. That's why I relate to the problems and concerns of financial managers and can provide guidance, financial or otherwise.
I grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and earned my B.S. in Accounting and Computer Information Systems from Indiana University. My wife, Aimee, and I have four wonderful children, and we have called Arizona home since 2004.
Tax Manager
I have spent most of my career working in the real estate and construction industry. I have had experience in providing everything from day to day accounting to working in the operations to reviewing the final financial results of the year. My greatest passions are in finding efficiencies and helping clients in any way that I can, whether that be through helping them understand their taxes, assisting with process improvements, or someone to bounce ideas off of (just ask!).
I grew up in West Virginia and moved to Arizona at the age of 18 and love it here. I attended Arizona State where I received my B.S. in Accounting and Masters of Taxation. My husband, Geoff, and I have three children so that is where all my free time is spent!
Audit Manager
I began my career as an auditor at KPMG in Dallas, while attending undergraduate at Southern Methodist University. I graduated with my BS and Masters in Accounting and moved back to my home state of Arizona, to work for KPMG and obtain my CPA license. After 3 years, I started a new job as a Revenue Accountant at JDA Software in Scottsdale. I was there for 5 years, where I worked in several different areas including revenue, fixed assets, leases and payroll accounting. I joined Conover Asay CPAs in March 2017.
I met my husband Zach while working at JDA. We have been married since 2015 and have two kids, Hayden and Sutton. We reside in Scottsdale and love spending time as a family and traveling to new places.
Senior Associate
I began my career as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Washington, DC. After two years of auditing, I transitioned to Financial Consulting, where I supported a Government Agency’s Finance Division for the next seven years. My work included Financial Statement preparation and review, as well as business process improvement within the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger Reporting areas. Additionally, I have multiple years of experience in Corporate Accounting and FP&A.
I grew up in Falmouth, Maine and earned my B.B.A in Accounting from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I married my husband Ryan in 2012, and we moved to Scottsdale in 2017 with our two children, Benjamin and Piper. We enjoy exploring Arizona as a family and being active outside year-round.
